Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMJ)

Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMJ)

Temporomandibular joint disorder, otherwise known as TMJ Syndrome, can be very painful. I cannot even imagine going though TMJ surgery.

What causes TMJ Syndrome? I have have found in my practice that many cases of T.M.J were caused by grinding or clenching of the teeth. Some cases were caused by accidents that resulted in whiplash or an impact to the jaw.

I am 100% in favor of helping my clients to avoid TMJ surgery. The required therapy can be very painful at times, but well worth it.

My first TMJ client was trying to avoid surgery and she was in pain all of the time. She was forced to resort to a liquid diet because she could not chew at all.

In our first treatment I started working the muscles of the jaw. The Masseter, Zygomaticus Minor and Zygamticus Major muscles were very tight and tender. I began by using very light pressure and circle friction, slowly adding pressure as the muscles relaxed.

After working the jaw for about 35-40 minutes, I started working the neck area. I find with a lot of TMJ clients that issues with the neck can cause jaw problems, so it is important to achieve a good neck release. After working the neck, I moved down to the Pectoral Major and Minor muscles, which were also very tight.

The treatment produced great results and she was very happy with the improvement. We made another appointment for two days later.

Many people who receive this therapy are sore the next day. However, it is a different kind of pain than before so they don’t mind it as much.

For the second session I did the same routine but added some work to the inside the mouth and the Mastoid Process. This stage of the therapy required initially applying light pressure and gradually working up to a heavier pressure.

After 4 sessions my client was able to eat soft food. After approximately ten 2-hour sessions she reported that she was feeling normal again. The cause in her particular case was grinding of the teeth at night. We continued her therapy at the rate of one or two sessions per month for maintenance until she was able to obtain help with stopping her teeth grinding habit.

Wrist Pain And Avoiding Carpal Tunnel Surgery

Wrist Pain And Avoiding Carpal Tunnel Surgery

I have been helping people suffering from wrist pain to avoid carpal tunnel surgery since the beginning of my practice.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is caused by repetitive motions, over-use of the hand or an accident resulting in trauma to the wrist. Your job as therapist is to help find the cause and correct the problem. To investigate the cause you want to look at the type of work they do, the sports they play, any hobbies and even bad posture. For example, using a mouse for the computer in the incorrect posture will eventually cause wrist pain or carpal tunnel syndrome.

Most surgeons who have diagnosed carpal tunnel believe you must perform surgery on the carpals in order to correct the problem, which is not true. In all my carpal tunnel clients I found the problem to be either the muscles or the tendons. If you are not able to help your client by massaging the muscles and tendons then I recommend looking into nutritional, emotional, or mental problems, or possible energy blockages (which I address during my sessions).

I remember as a child watching my mother go through three surgeries, and as an young adult I watched her endure two more. Needless to say they were not successful surgeries. Throughout the next 8 years I heard her complaining about her wrist several times and she was thinking of going to see the doctor again. At that time I was about a year into my practice and living in VA, and she lived in MI. I told her to wait until I could visit her there before going to see the doctor. She waited, and less than month later I was able to travel there.

I worked on the arm starting from the wrist and moving up to the elbow. I found the muscles and tendons to be very tight and sore. Next I worked the muscles and tendons for about 30 minutes using long storks with circle friction. I then continued to work up to the shoulder. In some cases you will find tightness all the way up the arm, through the shoulder and up into the neck and into the rotator muscles. It is important to check all these muscles.

After working all these areas for a total of 50 minutes I started working her hand and found it to be very tight and sore, so I worked the entire hand. The tendons were very tight and tender to the touch. After loosening the hand up I looked at her and asked her how it felt. “Great”, she replied, “It sure did hurt when you were working on it but now it feels great.”

We did a couple more sessions before I had to return to VA. She did not have any pain for a year after that, at which time we did one more therapy and the pain was gone. I never hear her complain about her wrist any more.

Infections

Infections

I have worked on hundreds of infections, ranging from organ, ear and skin, to staph infections and many others.

I have not found any internal or topical therapy to be as effective as Energetic Medicine. I have a success rate of more than 95% in helping the body rid itself of infection.

Here are a couple of stories I would like to share:

I had just bought the QXCI system and was learning how to use it when my girlfriend developed a bladder/kidney infection. She had plans to attend a silent retreat in California and she was scheduled to fly out the next day. She went to see her doctor, who gave her something to take for the infection, and off she went.

I received a phone call from her the next day saying she was in tremendous pain, bleeding during urination and unable to get out of bed. She asked if I could help. I told her I would “subspace” her with the QXCI system and within 5 minutes I was upstairs in my office working on her.

The next day I received another phone call from her saying the pain had stopped within 2 hours after she had spoken to me. The blood in her urine had stopped that morning as well. I performed one more treatment the next day to be on the safe side and she experienced no problems after that.

I have a friend here in Vilcabamba who was stung by a stingray on her foot while she was on the coast. She sought out the local physicians and they prescribed antibiotics for the infection. Over a 5-7 day period her foot developed a staff infection. None of the antibiotics were working. The doctors said if the infection did not show signs of healing in the next day or two they would have to amputate the foot. She called me as soon as she left the hospital and told me what was going on and I told her to come over to my house right away.

When we unwrapped the foot, it was purple in color and it excluded an awful smell, strong enough that both my boys could not handle the smell and left the room. I used the MicroCurrent with Colloidal Silver on the foot up to the ankle for a little more than one hour. I applied one more spray before wrapping the foot and told her to come back the next day.

I saw her that evening again and as we unwrapped the foot the color was almost back to normal and the smell was about half as strong as the day before. We repeated this treatment for 5 days in total, approximately 1 1/4hrs each time and the infection was gone. Looking back, I wish I had taken photos but I did not.

However, I know of a college who did take pictures of a client suffering from gangrene. The doctors wanted to amputate the foot in this case as well. After 10 sessions the leg color changed from purple to almost normal. Please see below:

Gangrene Infection Before Treatment Gangrene Infection After Treatment
Gangrene Infection Prior To Treatment                                 Gangrene Infection After 10 Treatments

As you can see, dramatic healing results are possible where “conventional” medicine often fails. I highly recommend MicroCurrent Therapy with or without colloidal silver for healing infections.

Lower Back Problems

I have seen more people for lower back problems than I have for any other issues of the body.

The lower back can be really tricky if you can not read the signs. What muscle is the cause? When and where did it start? Is it physical, mental or emotional? All of these factors should be addressed in order to correct the back and keep it corrected.

The first step in any physical therapy is to assess the body. For example, check to see if the ears, shoulders, hips, knees and ankles are all even. After measuring these areas, check the head… is it forward or behind the shoulders? Is it tilted while the client is in a standing position? Are the shoulders forward or are they even with the ears and hips? Are the hips forward, twisted or rotated in any way? Observe the knees… are they forward, back or locked while in a standing position? Next, examine the feet… are they toed out, toed in, flat-footed or inverted? Check the soles of the shoes. Are they worn unevenly? These checks will provide clues to fill you in on what is going on with the body.

Dr. Haller asked me many questions during my training, but this one really stuck with me… She asked, “Brian, when the foundation of a house moves unevenly, what happens to the rest of the house?” Well, having grown up in Michigan, I knew the answer to that question right away. I replied that the walls and ceilings will start to crack. “Yes”, she said, “and your feet are the foundation to your body.” This makes sense, doesn’t it? When the posture of the feet is out of alignment, the effects can creep up the rest of the body and cause problems elsewhere. If you do not address the cause, the problem will keep recurring. Fix the cause, fix the problem. However, we are not done yet. How did the feet get this way? Better start asking more questions.

My success rate in helping to relive back pain and correcting the causative factors is in the neighborhood of 97%. Around 1.5% have been mysteries and the other 1.5% were so damaged from back surgeries that I could not help. However, I have worked on a lot of clients who had previous back surgeries with great success.

There were two clients who had so much calcium in the back that I could not break it down. I have succeeded in breaking up calcium deposits many times before, but in these cases there was just too much calcium and a lot of pain.

I feel I need to share a story with all the health professionals who may be reading this article.

The first client I was not able to help came along 1 1/2 years after I started working in my own practice. I worked on a gentleman in Richmond, VA, who had a calcified back. We did two 1 1/2 hour sessions, two days in a row, and he said he felt no different than before we started. The next day I drove back to VB where I was living at the time and went in for my training with Dr. Haller. She took one look at me and asked what was wrong. I told her the story about how I was unable to help this man who was in pain 24 hours a day, even while on pain medication.

I said to her that I felt I had let this person down and I said that I felt like quitting. She looked at me and said, “Sit down Brian, we need to talk.” She said, “Brian, there will be clients who come to you and you will not be able to help them. These clients may have a lesson to learn from their experience. If you can not help them resolve the lesson because they have not learned it yet, would you want to take them off this path so they do not learn what is there for them to learn?” I answered, “No, I would want them to learn it so they would not have to experience this again or something worse.”

At that point I realized that it is not just my will but also my client’s unconscious will and God’s. It takes all of us together to heal the body and mind, whichever is at the root of the issue.

Another story:

I was less than 5 months out of school when a friend of mine, Dr. Don (a chiropractor) called me up and said he had a client whom he had been trying to help avoid back surgery and he was not sure he could help her further. He felt that I might be able to help her. Now keep in mind that at this point in my career, I had never worked on someone who needed back surgery.

The following day I visited Dr. Don’s office and he asked his client to lie down on the edge of the table with her legs hanging over. I noticed immediately that her legs were not hanging at all. They actually were even with the rest of the body. The Psoas muscles (along with others) were so tight that her legs could not even hang below her pelvis.

The next day she came in again and we started working on her. I had asked for God to guide me though this therapy. I started by stretching her hamstrings to test her Range Of Motion. It was very poor… I could raise her leg only about a foot and a half off the table before she felt a burn. Then I “was told” to ask her to push her leg down toward the table at 80% of her strength. She did this, and on the second stretch we increased the R.O.M. by about 1/2 foot. I could not believe my eyes. So we repeated the same stretch twice and increased her R.O.M. by about a foot and a half. We did a series of stretching with resistance and increased the R.O.M. of every muscle we stretched by 70-200 percent.

We worked on her for 1 1/2 hours the first day and I did stretches I have never seen done before and was guided to where and how to work on her.

At the end of the 10th session she got dressed and called me in. She started to move her legs and hips as if she was dancing and said, “Thank you so much. I have not been able to move like this for over 2 years without pain. I feel like I can start playing tennis, basketball and swim again. I said try it out but take it slow. I encouraged her to continue stretching every day.

I worked on her for 1 1/2 – 2 hours per session, every other day except on the weekend, for a total of 10 sessions. The results were outstanding and she was able to avoid surgery.

About a year and a half later I ran into her at the post office and she gave me a big hug and I asked her how she was doing. She said she was doing her stretches every day and she felt great. She was back to playing all her sports and enjoying life. Another two years went by and I saw her in the same post office and I received the same reply.

Thank you God for guiding me.

Rev. Brian
